Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of outdoor activities in supporting the mental well-being of students members of UKM PALA “Pelita” at Nusantara PGRI University Kediri. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of student activities. The findings indicate that outdoor activities serve not only as recreation but also as means for psychological recovery, resilience building, and personal meaning development. Various activities such as mountain climbing, camping, and teamwork positively influence students' stress levels, mood, focus, and life purpose. The contextual factors, including environmental conditions, also influence students’ experiences and perceptions of outdoor activities. These results highlight the potential of natural environment activities as therapeutic media and character development tools within guidance and counseling contexts. The study recommends incorporating outdoor activities into mental health programs and student counseling services as preventive and curative approaches.
