Abstract

Writing this article aims to explain the importance of changing students' perceptions of counseling teachers or guidance and counseling teachers as well as guidance and counseling services. Guidance Counseling or counseling is considered by students to be school police because the profession of a counseling teacher at school is to handle students and students who are not disciplined with the existing rules at school. for students to be more disciplined. Guidance and counseling teachers are organizers of school activities, in which case there are many misunderstandings by students towards counseling teachers by considering them as school police. A BK teacher must provide professional services to students or their students at school. With professional service, it is hoped that counseling teachers will have a positive image from their students and the wider community. With this image, it certainly has a positive impact on students' assessment of how the counseling teacher is at the school. The number of student misunderstandings about the counseling teacher as the school police has caused the professional counseling teacher to become tainted. Considering guidance and counseling teachers as school police, guidance and counseling teachers who have no clarity in their work and many other perceptions or bad assumptions regarding guidance and counseling by students or students. It is hoped that the existence of guidance and counseling services can encourage or motivate students that a counseling teacher or counseling teacher is a counseling teacher who is professional and correct in dealing with students. The professional services carried out by the guidance and counseling teacher indicate that a guidance and counseling teacher is worthy of becoming a teacher. And with this service, misunderstandings about guidance and counseling teachers can be minimized.
