Abstract
Discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or socio economic status can undermine social well being and justice. In the context of culturally diverse universities, discrimination often occurs, such as racism, tokenism, and discrimination based on gender, religion, and socioeconomic status. The multicultural counseling approach is proposed as a solution to create an inclusive campus environment, with a focus on understanding and appreciating cultural diversity. This counseling emphasizes the importance of awareness, knowledge, and skills of counselors in dealing with differences in cultural identities, so that it can increase empathy and reduce prejudice that results in discrimination among students
