Intervensi Konseling Humanistik dengan Teknik Inner child dalam Meningkatkan Self-esteem

Low self-esteem among adolescents can negatively affect personal development, social relationships, and academic achievement, highlighting the need for effective guidance and counseling interventions. This study examined the effectivenss of humanistic approach using the inner child therapy technique to improve students’ self-esteem at SMAN 1 Papar. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed with 10 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a self-esteem scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the paired-samples t-test, and the N-Gain test. The results showed that the mean self-esteem score increased from 112.30 to 133.70 after the intervention, with a significance value of <0.001 and an N-Gain score of 0.7344, indicated high effectiveness. These findings suggest that a humanistic approach combined with the inner child therapy technique effective alternative intervention for enchancing students’ self esteem in guidance and counseling, while future studies should involve larger samples and control groups to strengthen the findings.
