Adolescence is a transitional period characterized by various developmental
demands, one of which is readiness to plan and make career decisions. Career
maturity is an important indicator of adolescents’ success in accomplishing
developmental tasks, including self-understanding, career exploration, and
responsible decision making. However, many adolescents still show a low level of
career maturity. This conceptual article aims to examine adolescent career
maturity from the perspective of peer social support based on guidance and
counseling theories. The discussion highlights the role of peers as a source of
emotional support, informational support, and social feedback that influence
adolescents’ attitudes, self-confidence, and readiness in career planning. The
conceptual analysis indicates that positive peer social support contributes
significantly to the development of adolescents’ career maturity. This article is
expected to provide a theoretical reference for school counselors in developing
group-based career guidance services that utilize positive peer interactions
