Abstract

Cultural literacy and citizenship is the ability of individuals to interact with their environment as cultural and national identity. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of teachers in implementing cultural and civic literacy to increase students' interest in learning and the impact of the implementation of cultural and civic literacy on students' interest in learning in elementary schools. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with observation, interview and documentation techniques. It was obtained that the role of teachers is very important in implementing cultural and civic literacy to motivate, guide and improve the quality of learning by using fun learning methods to attract students' interest in learning. The impact of Cultural Literacy and Citizenship on learning interest with habituation activities at school can effectively increase students' interest in learning to be more enthusiastic about learning, increase student learning experiences, and foster student tolerance in the school environment.
