Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers play a strategic role in helping students overcome problems related to personal, social, learning, and career aspects. However, in practice, many BK teachers experience problems or obstacles that hinder the effectiveness of their services. The success of providing guidance and counseling services in schools is supported by an understanding and support for the implementation of counseling in schools, such as the availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure, good and mutually beneficial relationships between all school members, and the fulfillment of the administration required by BK teachers in carrying out their duties. In carrying out their duties, BK teachers still encounter many obstacles. The obstacles and problems experienced by BK teachers are increasingly complex and complicated in line with student development. These obstacles include the limited number of BK teachers, students' and other teachers' low understanding of other functions, lack of facilities and infrastructure, and high administrative burdens. This study aims to determine the role of BK teachers in overcoming obstacles experienced in providing services to students in schools using a qualitative descriptive approach.
