Pendekatan Konseling Individual Dalam Meningkatkan Kehadiran Siswa: Studi Kasus Di Sma Negeri 8 Kediri

This study aims to describe the implementation, challenges, and impact of individual counseling services provided by Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in improving student attendance at SMA Negeri 8 Kediri. Student absenteeism remains a significant issue in the educational process. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that individual counseling was conducted using both humanistic and behavioral approaches. BK teachers built empathetic communication, developed behavior change plans, and involved families and homeroom teachers. Challenges included limited time and students' reluctance to open up. Nevertheless, the counseling effectively increased students’ awareness, motivation, and responsibility to attend school regularly. These findings underscore the need for school support in optimizing individual counseling services
