Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter Berbasis Nilai Religius pada Siswa Mts Sunan Gunung Jati Gurah Kediri

This study investigates the reinforcement of religious-based character education among 8th-grade students at MTs Sunan Gunung Jati Gurah Kediri. The research was motivated by the challenges of character degradation in modern society, such as impoliteness, low discipline, and digital addiction, even in religious-based schools. It aims to describe the program implementation, its supporting factors, and inhibiting factors. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research was conducted from November 2024 to July 2025. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, with method triangulation for validity. Findings reveal that the program is systematically implemented through routine activities like congregational prayers, Quran recitation, and community service, fostering faith, discipline, and social care. Key supporting factors include strong teacher role models and active headmaster support, while challenges involve low student awareness, impolite behavior, social media influence, and limited parental involvement. Despite challenges, the school's strategic efforts, including teacher development and parental communication, demonstrate effective religious value internalization through consistent habituation and synergy among stakeholders
