Environmental care character education must be instilled in the younger generation because of the worsening environmental conditions. In this study, with group guidance, the field trip method is used as a strategy to improve students' environmental care character. Field trip activities provide direct experience that strengthens students' understanding of the importance of protecting and preserving the environment. The research method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental one-group pretest - posttest design. Sampling using purposive sampling technique and a sample size of 10 students, and the instrument used is an environmental care character questionnaire. While the data analysis techniques used in this study are normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and n-gain test. The results showed that after three group guidance meetings, there was a significant increase in students' environmental care character. Through the t-test, the Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.00 <0.05, and the N-Gain test produced a score of 1.4380 with a percentage of 143.7968%, which indicates that the field trip method is effective in improving students' environmental care character. Field trip activities should not only be carried out once, but should be an ongoing program, so that it can continue to improve students' environmental awareness character.
