Abstract

This article aims to review the innovation of guidance and counseling services with traditional game based on local wisdom in character education as an effort to develop guidance and counseling as well as cultural conservation. This study was motivated by the more reduced public interest in traditional games that contained many noble values ​​of the Indonesian people. On the other hand, the actual traditional game can be used as an alternative strategy in strengthening character education. Guidance and counseling services need more utilize local wisdom-based strategies because they are more in accordance with our personality and philosophy. By utilizing and re-reinterpreting traditional games to students and counselors means there is an effort to innovate in the Guidance and Counseling service strategy and cultural preservation
