The background of this study is the low level of student understanding of fractions, which are abstract in nature, and the limited availability of supportive visual learning media. This research aims to describe the validity of animated video media on the topic of addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators for third-grade students at SDN Manggis 2. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, focusing on the validation stage. Validation was conducted by a media expert and a subject matter expert using a questionnaire instrument. The results showed that the media obtained a validity percentage of 88% and the material 85%, both of which fall into the "very valid" category. The assessed aspects included visual appearance, audio clarity, content alignment with basic competencies, and comprehensibility for students. The media was deemed suitable for use without revision, as it effectively presents abstract concepts in a more concrete and engaging way. The conclusion of this study is that the developed animated video media can be used as an effective alternative learning tool to improve students’ understanding of fractions.
