This research is motivated by the low learning motivation of students, which affects their participation and learning outcomes. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of group counseling services using the discussion technique on students’ learning motivation in junior high school. The research used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, specifically the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects were selected purposively from grade VIII students. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire administered before and after the treatment. The results showed an increase in students’ learning motivation after receiving the group counseling services. Prior to the treatment, most students were in the low to moderate motivation category, whereas after the intervention, the majority were in the high to very high category. In conclusion, group counseling services with the discussion technique proved to be effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation and can be considered as an alternative intervention in school counseling programs.
