Abstract

Based on the results of observations on the achievement of gross motor development of children aged 5-6 years at RA Islam Salafiyah Padangan, Kayen Kidul District, Kediri Regency is still low. It was found that gross motor stimulation used gymnastics with a long duration so that students experienced boredom. The formulation of the problem in this study is How is the development of gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at RA Islam Salafiyah Padangan before and after being given learning activities through Play Dance?. The gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at RA Islam Salafiyah Padangan developed well. This is indicated by an increase in the results of completeness from pre-action to cycle III, namely pre-action of 30%, cycle I 40%, cycle II 60%, and cycle III 90%. Based on the conclusions of the results of this study, it is recommended that the use of play dance learning activities can be used as an alternative choice to stimulate gross motor skills. Through play dance, children can raise their hands above their heads, walk on the spot, swing their hands to the left and right, and jump right and left.
