Empathy is an individual's ability to understand and share the emotional experiences of others. Low levels of empathy among students may negatively affect their social interactions in the school environment. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services using the biblioeducation technique in improving the empathy of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Kediri. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of eight students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an empathy behavior scale and analyzed using the Paired Sample t-Test and N-Gain test. The findings indicated an improvement in students' empathy after participating in group guidance services using the biblioeducation technique. The Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), while the N-Gain test yielded a score of 80.37%, indicating that the intervention was effective. Therefore, group guidance services using the biblioeducation technique are effective in improving the empathy of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Kediri.
