This research investigates the impact of integrating the PQ4R learning strategy with digital comic media on students’ skills in identifying main ideas. The study was carried out in a third-grade class at SDN Tarokan 3, using a quantitative method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. A multiple-choice assessment was administered to measure student performance before and after the intervention. Findings from the t-test revealed a significant increase in posttest scores after the application of the PQ4R model, surpassing results from traditional teaching methods. The six stages of PQ4R—Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review—fostered deeper comprehension and active student involvement. Meanwhile, the use of digital comics enhanced the learning experience by making it more engaging and effective. The integration of this model and media notably improved students' ability to determine main sentences. Thus, the PQ4R model, complemented by visual tools like digital comics, is recommended as an effective alternative for teaching Indonesian language in elementary schools.
