The art of Wayang encompasses various forms, differing in terms of the materials used, the origins of their creation, and the narratives presented. This research aims to delve into the historical development of Wayang Timplong, focusing on the materials, manufacturing techniques, and the role of the artisans. A qualitative approach was utilized in this study to gather and analyze the data. The findings of the study reveal that Wayang Timplong was created by Mbah Bancol, inspired by his deep passion for the arts. The puppet is crafted from wood, highlighting its authenticity and distinctiveness in terms of the materials employed. Beyond its role as entertainment, it also serves as a means to promote and preserve local cultural values within the community.
