Analisis Perlindungan Korban Tragedi Kanjuruhan dalam Perspektif HAM

Abstract

The Kanjurhan tragedy that occurred on October 1, 2022 in Malang Regency, East Java, is one of the most tragic events in football history. As a result of the incident, 135 people died, 596 people were slightly injured and 26 people were seriously injured, bringing the total number of victims to 757 people in this case. This article will examine the implementation of human rights protection in the context of the Kanjurhan tragedy by examining the policies, regulations and protections implemented. The aim is to analyze the protection of victims of this tragedy from a human rights perspective using a qualitative method and a literature study research approach. The results indicate that although there are strict legal regulations, their implementation is still relatively weak. The slow law enforcement process and public dissatisfaction with the court's decision created a feeling of injustice among the community, especially for the victims' families. The tragedy also highlighted the urgency of reforms in the stadium security system as well as the handling of mass riots.
