Abstract

Current world developments cannot be avoided by technology, including in the world of education. Technology in the world of education helps teachers and students to learn more easily and develop creative and innovative ideas. However, like a double-edged sword, technology also has negative impacts. Technology that is supposed to support progress in the world of education actually brings various bad consequences if it is not used wisely. The main focus of this article is the negative impact of technology on the educational process. This article aims to analyze and describe the negative impacts that technology has on the educational process. Examples of technology conversations on the educational process include dependence on social media, excessive dare games, cyberbullying, and the spread of false information (hoaxes), which can disrupt concentration in the educational process. Apart from that, uncontrolled use of technology also has the potential to reduce social skills, trigger anxiety, and reduce students' mental health. This article uses a qualitative approach with a literature review chosen because it allows data collection to explore the negative impact of educational technology on the educational process.
