Abstract

This research is motivated by the findings of students at SDN Babadan 2 Ngawi who have difficulty learning to read (dyslexia), characterized by obstacles in recognizing letters, reading syllables, and long texts, causing low learning outcomes and lagging behind the material. The research aims to identify the forms of reading difficulties, causal factors, and efforts to handle them. The method used was qualitative with a case study approach, involving dyslexic learners as the main subject as well as principals, teachers, parents, and peers as informants. The collection method used participant interview guidelines and in-depth interviews. Data analysis used data tringulation. The results showed that the form of difficulty experienced by FD was his inability to recognize letters, difficulty in reading syllables, and long texts. The cause is influenced by internal factors, such as anxiety, and external factors such as the less than optimal role of the family. Synergy efforts between the school, teachers, peers and parents can help FD achieve his best potential. So it can be concluded that the learning difficulties experienced by FD are influenced by internal and external factors, but can be overcome through synergy between schools, teachers, peers and parents to support the achievement of his best potential.
