Lemahnya Kesadaran Budaya Konselor

Abstract

This article describes (1) the problems of guidance and counseling: weak cultural awareness of counselors, (2) alternative solutions. A counselor as a helping profession must have excellent cultural awareness in order to become a cultural counselor. Counselors also as skilled cultural agents are aware of how their own cultural background and experiences, attitudes, and values ​​and biases influence psychological processes. Cultural counselors also have the capacity where the counselor has cultural awareness and diversity and knowledge about self and others, and how this awareness and knowledge is applied effectively in practice with clients. Cultural awareness also shapes the character of counselors' responsibilities in helping to optimize student development comprehensively
