Abstract

Adolescence is a developmental stage characterized by physical, cognitive, and emotional changes that make junior high school students vulnerable to emotional instability. Emotional management is an important skill as it relates to students’ ability to control, express, and respond to emotions appropriately so that they do not harm themselves or others. Emotional management plays a significant role in supporting students’ personal, social, and academic development in school. The inability to manage emotions properly may lead to social relationship problems, decreased concentration in learning, and aggressive behavior. Therefore, strengthening emotional management skills needs to be considered in the educational process. This article aims to examine the importance of developing emotional management among junior high school students during adolescent development. This study is expected to provide an overview of the urgency of emotional management and its role in supporting students’ success in both academic and social aspects within the school environment.
