Ecranization is a process that shows that art, including literary works such as novels, can be enjoyed through different perspectives. One of the goals of adapting a novel into a film is to increase the appeal of both the novel and the film. This study aims to find out the Ecranization of the Novel Gadis Kretek by Ratih Kumala into the Film Gadis Kretek by Kamila Andini and Ifa Ifansyah. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Researchers observe data directly and continuously. After the data is collected, the data is grouped according to additions, reductions, and varied changes. The results of the study showed that 6 additions, 29 reductions, 6 varied changes. Based on the total number of data in this study, the reduction section has the most data compared to the addition and varied changes section.
