SPEECH DELAY PADA ANAK USIA DINI DITINJAU DARI PERSPEKTIF NEUROSAINS

This study examines speech delay, also known as delayed speech, in early childhood from a neuroscience perspective. Speech delay is a condition in which a child experiences difficulty communicating with parents and others. Neurological disorders or malfunctions, particularly injuries to the left hemisphere of the brain, which is crucial for language processing, are the main causes of speech delay. This study utilized literature review and case study observations. The study was conducted over approximately two months at the Lisa Community Learning Center (PKBM) in Kediri City. The results showed that head trauma caused speech delay, which led to neurological disorders. Parents and teachers can help children speak correctly by involving them in activities and collaborating with parents. Parents and teachers can provide stimulation, such as teaching children to speak correctly, involving them in various activities, collaborating with parents and teachers, and creating a supportive learning environment. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding neuroscience to identify symptoms of speech delay at an early age and provide appropriate stimulation for children's language development.
