Abstract

Airlangga Museum located in Kediri is one of the educational tourism destinations that stores various historical and cultural relics from the classical period. This study aims to analyze the role of the museum as a means of education and preservation of cultural heritage. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through field observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research findings reveal that Airlangga Museum plays a significant role in supporting the process of learning history, especially for students and local people who visit it. Collections such as statues, inscriptions, and other artifacts are arranged based on certain themes to support a systematic education process. However, several obstacles were also found, especially related to the limited supporting facilities and the lack of digital information available to visitors. Thus, Airlangga Museum not only functions as a place to preserve cultural heritage objects, but also becomes a strategic educational space in strengthening people's understanding of local history in the digital era.
