Abstract

The character of Wasaka (Waja sampai Kaputing) is the motto of the people of South Kalimantan, which means effort to the end or the struggle will not stop until the struggle can be achieved. Academic procrastination is the phenomenon of  procrastinating academic tasks or work. Procrastination not only impacts on academic performance but on students' mental and emotional health. This research aims to develop the WASAKA (Write, Analyse, Argue, Knowledge Development, and Act) learning model to improve WASAKA character and reduce academic procrastination. The type of research is development (Development Research). This research consists of preliminary stage and formative evaluation stage (Tessmer test). The research subjects were PAI students. Data collection techniques used observation and survey. The research instruments were validation sheets and observation sheets. The results showed that the WASAKA learning model has a content validity of 0.87-0.93 with a valid category. The assessment of the WASAKA character in students during the learning process received an overall average score of 4.85 with a very good category and the  level  of  student  academic procrastination was in the medium-low category. The conclusion of this study is that the learning model developed is valid, the WASAKA character of students is in the form of responsibility, resilience, discipline, diligence, hard work, and independence
