Generation Z in Indonesia faces career indecision due to internal factors, such as an unclear self-concept, and external pressures, including social media, the expectation of instant success, and shifting local cultural values influenced by globalization. This has led to rising unemployment, an increase in NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) individuals, and significant psychological anxiety. Conventional Western-based career counseling methods often fail to consider the cultural context that shapes Indonesian identity. This article aims to develop a career counseling framework rooted in the Javanese philosophy "Jer Basuki Mawa Beya," which emphasizes that success requires process, sacrifice, and effort. This conceptual framework rests on three philosophical assumptions: potential develops through a continuous process; success demands struggle and sacrifice; and career is a part of the life journey, encompassing material, social, psychological, and spiritual aspects. This approach integrates local cultural values with modern counseling theory, making it more holistic, contextual, and meaningful in helping Gen Z build sustainable careers aligned with their socio-cultural identity.
