This quantitative correlational study aims to examine the contribution of democratic parenting and independence to students' career planning. Involving 116 grade XI MIPA students of SMA Negeri Kebakkramat selected through purposive sampling, data were collected using a Likert Scale that has been tested for its validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially. The results showed that the levels of democratic parenting (66.4%), independence (70.7%), and career planning (72.4%) were mostly in the moderate category. Inferentially, a significant positive influence of democratic parenting (22.7%) and independence (13%) on career planning was found. Simultaneously, both variables contributed 25.3% to students' career planning. In conclusion, democratic parenting and independence play a significant role in helping students plan for the future. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of collaboration between parents and schools, as well as the need to develop career counseling services and parenting training for parents.
