Abstract

Learning motivation is a critical factor in determining student success, especially at the junior high school level, where students undergo rapid emotional and cognitive development. However, various obstacles such as academic pressure, low self-efficacy, emotional instability, and limited social support can diminish students' motivation to learn. If not properly addressed, these conditions may lead to declining academic achievement, apathy toward learning, and psychological distress. Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) emerges as an alternative approach in school counseling services that emphasizes solutions, personal strengths, and a future-oriented mindset. This approach encourages constructive thinking and empowers students to manage their learning process independently. This conceptual article explores the relevance of implementing SFBT in educational settings, particularly its connection to intrinsic motivation theory and self-efficacy. By strengthening student potential and academic resilience, SFBT is considered effective in fostering a psychologically responsive learning climate and supporting holistic student development within the school environment.
