PERAN GURU BK MENGHADAPI TANTANGAN DALAM MELAKSANAKAN PROGRAM BK UPT SMP NEGERI 8 GRESIK

Abstract

A counselor is someone who plays a role in handling and helping students' problems at school. The aim of this research is to determine the role of counselors in facing challenges in implementing the bk program at UPT SMP Negeri 8 Gresik. This research used a qualitative descriptive design approach by conducting interviews with counselors at UPT SMP Negeri 8 Gresik. Based on the research results, it shows that the role of counselors in facing challenges in implementing the guidance and counseling program at UPT SMP Negeri 8 Gresik has not been fully implemented optimally. This can be seen from students' negative perceptions of counselors, giving rise to misunderstandings between students and counselors. Carrying out counselor duties in accordance with the guidance and counseling program can change students' negative perceptions and can avoid misunderstandings between counselors and students.
