The glittering world of clubbing (dugem) is a nightlife activity that has developed alongside the growing tide of modernization and the influx of global culture. This phenomenon is increasingly entrenched in the lives of the younger generation, particularly students. The clubbing phenomenon is not only seen as a means of entertainment but also as a lifestyle that has the potential to shift the cultural and moral values prevailing in Javanese society. This shift in cultural values is evident in the weakening of self-control, appropriate behavior, and sensitivity to the social impact of behavior. This article aims to understand the clubbing phenomenon through the perspective of Javanese philosophy, specifically Ngelmu Roso as a foundational value in responding to freedom of expression. The discussion in this article focuses on the values of roso isin, roso empan papan, and roso tepa selira, which serve as ethical guidelines in maintaining moral awareness and social harmony. This article shows that the fading of internalization of these values contributes to a shift in the behavioral orientation of the younger generation so that cultural-educational revitalization of Ngelmu Roso is needed as an effort to strengthen values so that the freedom of expression of the younger generation remains in line with Javanese cultural norms.
