Bubak Kawah Warisan Budaya Leluhur Yang Tetap Hidup Di Desa Kandangan

Abstract

In this modern era, many local traditions are being eroded by the times. Technology and outside cultures often influence the way people live, including in Kandangan Village. This research aims to examine the Bubak Kawah tradition as a form of local wisdom that is able to maintain ancestral cultural values while strengthening the social solidarity of the Kandangan Village community. This research uses an ethnographic approach to understand the meaning and practice of the Bubak Kawah tradition in depth and comprehensively. Data were collected through data triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings by comparing the results of interviews, observations, surveys, and document analysis. The results of this study found that the participation of the younger generation and innovations in preservation, such as digital documentation and social media campaigns, are able to keep this tradition alive. In addition, the role of government and educational institutions is crucial in strengthening the sustainability of this tradition through cultural education programs and awareness promotion. It can be concluded that the Bubak Kawah tradition in Kandangan Village, which is rich in spiritual, social, and cultural values, has survived through community support, digital innovation, and cross-generational collaboration despite the challenges of modernization.
