Abstract

Self-confidence is a key psychological factor influencing students’ academic, social, and emotional development. Many students exhibit low confidence, highlighting the need for counseling approaches that effectively strengthen their self-belief. This article explains how Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) can be applied to enhance students’ self-confidence through brief, structured, and solution-oriented techniques. Using a literature review approach, this article analyzes studies discussing the effectiveness of SFBC. The discussion covers the concept of SFBC, the nature of self-confidence, and how techniques such as scaling questions, miracle questions, and exceptions support positive self-perception. The review indicates that SFBC strengthens self-confidence by helping students recognize small successes and set constructive goals. The article concludes that SFBC is a relevant and practical approach for school counseling and recommends further exploration to broaden its application across diverse educational settings.
