Academic procrastination is a conscious habit of delaying the completion of
academic tasks that directly affects students’ academic achievement and learning
quality. This behavior is not only related to time management but is also
influenced by learning motivation, self-efficacy, and self-regulation abilities. If not
properly addressed, academic procrastination may develop into maladaptive
learning patterns and hinder students’ academic potential. Therefore, the role of
school counselors is essential in providing structured and applicable guidance
services. This article aims to examine the use of Solution Focused Brief
Counseling (SFBC) as a counseling approach to reduce students’ academic
procrastination. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing
relevant theories and previous research findings. The results indicate that SFBC
is effective in helping students formulate realistic academic goals, recognize
personal strengths, and develop simple, actionable steps to reduce
procrastination behavior. SFBC emphasizes solutions rather than problems,
making it suitable for implementation in school counseling services to support
students’ academic development
