Abstract

Discipline in students is the main and essential aspect of education in the family which is the responsibility of parents. Discipline has become part of life behavior. Discipline of students will clearly affect other behaviors in the home environment, school environment, and community environment. The function of discipline (Tuu, 2004) is to organize life together, discipline is useful to make someone aware that he needs to respect by obeying and complying with applicable regulations. To be able to find out how big the level of student discipline is, a student discipline scale instrument is needed. With this scale, it is expected that students can find out the level of discipline they have validly and reliably. The student discipline scale consists of 44 questions. This study aims to determine the validity and reliability of the student discipline scale. The development of the student discipline scale uses six steps in the preparation of research instruments (Iskandar, 2008: 79). The results of the analysis of validity and reliability tests using product moment and cronbach alpha obtained 34 valid items and 10 invalid items with a reliability of 0.680 which means in the high category which means that the discipline scale for class VII Students Of SMP Negeri 2 Gondang Nganjuk In The School year 2021/2022 can be used.
