Abstract

This study aims to reveal the profile of student learning activities in
Biology, specifically on the topic of the Human Reproductive
System. It employed a case study design focusing on observing indepth learning activities conducted at a Senior High School in Kediri
Regency during August 2025. The data collected consisted of the
stages of student learning activities during the instructional
process, obtained through unstructured classroom observations
and interviews with the biology teacher. Data were analyzed
descriptively by comparing the observed learning activities with
those outlined in the teacher’s lesson plan (RPP). The findings show
that the stages of student learning include prayer, attendance,
listening to the teacher’s explanation of learning objectives,
observing instructional media, answering questions, and
participating in class discussions. However, several essential stages
of in-depth learning were not implemented optimally. Student
learning activities remained dominated by teacher explanations
and worksheet-based tasks, while discussion activities were still
limited. This indicates that classroom learning has not yet reflected
meaningful learning stages that guide students to think reflectively
and become aware of their learning processes. Moreover, activities
that strengthen numeracy literacy were not evident, as the learning
resources used were mainly informative and did not stimulate data
analysis, quantitative reasoning, or the application of biological
concepts in real-life contexts. The study therefore recommends
developing learning designs using innovative models aligned with
government policy, particularly the in-depth learning approach.
This recommendation aims to strengthen numeracy literacy and
enhance collaborative and meaningful student learning activities
