Abstract

The 21st century is characterized by rapid technological
advancements that drive transformation in the field of education.
Pedagogical innovation is essential to create relevant, contextual,
and engaging learning experiences, particularly in topics such as
the skeletal system, which requires concrete visualization to
enhance students’ understanding. The limitations of conventional
media often hinder the achievement of optimal learning outcomes.
This study aims to develop and evaluate the validity, practicality,
and effectiveness of the Assembler Edu learning media integrated
with Augmented Reality (AR) through smart cards. The research
employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the
4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) and a One-Group
Pretest–Posttest design involving two classes of grade XI science
students at SMA Negeri 3 Jember. Research instruments included
expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and
learning achievement tests (pretest and posttest). Data were
analyzed using percentage formulas for validity and practicality,
and the N-Gain score to determine learning improvement. The
results revealed that Assembler Edu was highly valid (94.9%), very
practical (83,7%) positive responses), and effective in improving
students’ learning outcomes, with N-Gain scores categorized as
moderate to high. Therefore, Assembler Edu is considered a feasible
and innovative learning medium that effectively supports
interactive biology learning aligned with the demands of the digital
era.
