Abstract

Reading is a very important skill taught by teachers with reading activities students can improve cognitive skills and increase their knowledge. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of teachers in dealing with reading learning difficulties and the factors that cause reading learning difficulties in elementary schools. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method, with observation, interview and documentation techniques. The results were obtained that the role of teachers is very important in dealing with children who have learning difficulties to provide guidance, supervision and motivate students to increase their enthusiasm for learning. Then the factors that cause difficulties in learning to read are: interest factors and lack of awareness in students, sourced from school.
