Abstract

Numeracy is a fundamental competency that should be developed from early childhood as the foundation for logical thinking, problem-solving, and learning readiness. However, numeracy instruction in early childhood education still relies on conventional, static, and uniform media that fail to accommodate children's individual learning differences. Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers opportunities to create adaptive, interactive, and personalized learning media. This article conceptually examines AI integration in developing animated numeracy learning media for early childhood through a literature-based conceptual review, synthesizing theories of early childhood numeracy, multimedia learning, adaptive learning, and AI in education, and proposing a conceptual framework based on the ADDIE model. AI is positioned not merely as a production tool but as a technology generating adaptive learning paths, personalized content, automated assessment, and feedback aligned with children's numeracy development. Findings indicate that AI-based animated media can enhance learning engagement, numeracy stimulation effectiveness, and twenty-first-century competencies from an early age. This study is expected to provide a conceptual foundation for future Research and Development on adaptive AI-based animated numeracy media in Indonesian early childhood education.
