Can Spotify Application Help the Students in Learning Speaking Skills?

Abstract

The use of digital platforms in language learning is growing in popularity, with Spotify emerging as a unique medium to support language acquisition.  Spotify is a digital music and podcast streaming service that gives listeners access to millions of songs and other content from artists around the world. This research aims to find out the way how the Spotify application facilitates students in learning speaking skills based on previous researches. This research uses descriptive quallitative method with data collected through library research or literature review by reviewing online published article within the last five years. With a focus on the potential benefits and the way how Spotify applicaion facilitate speaking practice. Through its podcasts, song lyrics and audio content features, Spotify offers students a variety of ways to interact with native speakers, improve pronunciation and expand vocabulary. By analyzing the app's interactive features, this research found that Spotify can help the students overcome common language barriers to their speaking skills.
