Kajian Historis Brug Over Den Brantas Te Kediri (Jembatan Lama Kediri) Pada Tahun 1855 - 2019

This research discusses the development of the Brug Over den Brantas te Kediri (Old Bridge) from 1855-2019. The Old Bridge is said to be the first iron construction bridge in Java. This bridge became a silent witness to historical events in the city of Kediri until it was finally designated as a cultural heritage. This research explains several things related to the Old Bridge, first, the development of the Old Bridge from 1855-2019. Second, the existence of the Old Bridge as the identity of the citizens of Kediri City. The method used in this research is a historical research method with a qualitative approach. Historical research methods have stages of data collection or heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historical writing or historiography. The data sources for this research were obtained from primary sources in the form of old photos of the bridge, books, magazines and newspapers related to the Old Bridge. The results of the first research, Brug Over den Brantas te Kediri (Old Bridge) which was built by the Dutch East Indies Government as a Groote Postweg (Main Post Road) connecting Surabaya-Madiun. Second, the existence of the Old Bridge in the middle of the city makes the bridge have historical value which provides identity for the residents of Kediri City.
