Academic burnout is a problem increasingly experienced by students due to the high academic demands in higher education. One factor that has the potential to reduce academic burnout is academic engagement, which includes emotional, cognitive, and behavioural dimensions. This study aims to analyse the relationship between each dimension of academic engagement and academic burnout among students at Islamic universities. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design and is positioned as a secondary analysis. The research subjects consisted of 123 students selected through simple random sampling. Data collection was conducted using academic engagement and academic burnout scales, while data analysis used Pearson's correlation. The results showed that all dimensions of academic engagement had a significant negative relationship with academic burnout, with the behavioural dimension showing the strongest relationship, followed by the cognitive and emotional dimensions. These findings confirm that academic engagement is a multidimensional construct and plays an important role in preventing academic burnout among students at Islamic universities.
