Abstract

The Alpha Generation, growing up in the digital era, faces challenges in maintaining social skills due to extensive exposure to technology. This study explores the effectiveness of a cooperative learning strategy using the educational game "Scattergories of Country" in improving students' academic performance and social skills. The research was conducted with fifth-grade students at MI Miftahul Huda, employing a pre-test and post-test experimental design with two groups (experimental and control). The game was integrated into geography lessons to enhance understanding of maps and national studies. Analysis results indicated a significant improvement in post-test scores for the experimental group compared to the control group, with an eta squared value (η²) of 0.028 in the F-test of RM ANOVA for the experimental group. This study concludes that integrating educational games into cooperative learning strategies, such as "Scattergories" is an effective method to balance technology use with the development of students' social skills. These findings provide valuable contributions to technology-based educational approaches in the digital era.
