21st century learning requires students to have critical thingking and problem- solving skills. However, problem-solving skills are still a challenge for many students in Indonesia. This study aims determine the effect of learning motivation and self-efficacy on students’ problem-solving skills in the Economics subject matter of resource scarcity and how to overcome it in Class X SMA Negeri 1 Prambon. This study uses a quantitative approach a causality survey method. A sample of 122 students was taken by simple random sampling from classes X-6 to X-10. The instrument used is a questionnaire to measure learning motivation andself-efficacy, and a description test to measure problem solving ability. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linea regression. The results showed that learning motivation and self-effficacy had a significant effect both partially an simultaneously on problem solving ability. Based on the results indicate that increasing learning motivation and self-efficacy is an important strategy in developing problem solving skills, especially in learning economics. Therefore, the involvement ofthese two aspects.
