Abstract

The research and development carried out was based on the learning process, teachers only provided student worksheets with minimal reading of fairy tales and during the learning process they were not accompanied by interesting media so that students were not able to decipher the messages in fairy tales well. This can be seen from the learning results of students, the majority of whom still get low scores. The aim of developing wayang comic learning media is to determine the validity, effectiveness and practicality of the wayang comic learning media being developed. This research uses a Development Research (R&D) approach with the ADDIE development model which has five stages, namely (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation (Evaluation). The subjects of this research were teachers and students of class III at SDN Lirboyo 2, Kediri City. The data analysis technique used is quantitative in the form of a Likert scale and qualitative. The results of research and development of wayang comic learning media are (1) the results of the validity of the learning media by learning media and material experts are 86.25%; (2) the results of the effectiveness of using learning media through limited trials and extensive trials show an increase in student learning outcomes reaching 89.5%; and (3) the results of the practicality of using wayang comic learning media through teacher and student responses received a score of 91.3%. Based on these results, it can be seen that the wayang comic learning media developed is declared to be very valid, effective and practical, so it is suitable for use in supporting the learning process.
