Kearifan Lokal dalam Internalisasi: Model Hibrida Pembentukan Karakter Melalui Kunjungan Situs Warisan dan Laboratorium Pembelajaran Budaya

Abstract

Character education in Indonesia remains largely normative and often fails to bridge the gap between moral knowledge and practical behavior. This study aims to develop and examine a hybrid model of character formation grounded in local wisdom by integrating heritage site visits through the BPK Regional Office X Teaching Program and cultural learning laboratories through the Sakola Budaya Program of BPK Regional Office IX. A descriptive qualitative design was employed involving participant observations, interviews with educators and learners, and document analysis. The findings reveal that heritage visits trigger historical awareness, moral reflection, and respect for cultural diversity, while cultural laboratories foster creativity, empathy, and collaborative skills—enabling values to be embodied in daily actions. This hybrid synergy bridges tangible and intangible heritage as a multidimensional learning resource. The study concludes that authentic and experiential cultural engagement strengthens value internalization, offering a more contextual, dialogic, and sustainable character education approach suited to the challenges of globalization. The proposed model provides practical guidance for schools and cultural institutions in advancing character development strategies rooted in local heritage.
