Abstract
This research is correlational in nature to determine whether there is a relationship between perfectionism and academic anxiety at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar. The independent variables in this study are perfectionism and fear of failure, while the dependent variable is academic anxiety. Example of eighth-grade research. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire. The research results show that: (1) The image of perfectionism at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar is at an average level of 51% and at a high level of 49%, (2) The image of fear of failure at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar is at a moderate level of 51% and at a high level of 49%. high level. assessing 7.8%. low level, 76% medium level, and 16.1% high level, (3) Specific description of learning anxiety 6.8% low level, 62.5% moderate low level, and 30.7% high level, (4) There is a significant influence and a non-significant negative relationship between the need for adequacy and; (5) There is a significant influence and a significant positive relationship between fear of failure and academic anxiety; (6) There is a significant relationship between perfectionism due to fear of failure and academic anxiety.
