Abstract

Self-compassion often called self-compassion is an important part of the character strengths that students need to have. The process of developing character strengths is an important part of the periodization of teenagers at school and also needs to be identified by guidance and counseling teachers. This study aims to analyze the prevalence of self-compassion in high school students in the city of Yogyakarta. This study is a quantitative descriptive study with a survey design involving 345 high school students in the city of Yogyakarta with an age range of 15-18 years. The instrument used is the self-compassion scale which consists of 26 items. The results of the analysis that have been carried out show that 213 students have moderate self-compassion, and 142 students have low self-compassion. These findings form the basis for providing guidance and counseling services in schools and developing research for future researchers
