PENGARUH PARAMETER PROSES GURDI TERHADAP KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN PADA MATERIAL KFRP KOMPOSIT

Proses gurdi merupakan proses pembuatan lubang silindris pada benda kerja untuk perakitan antara suatu komponen dengan komponen yang lainnya. Kinerja dari proses gurdi pada material Kevlar fiber reinforced polymer (KFRP) komposit dapat diukur berdasarkan karakteristik kualitas seperti kekasaran permukaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi parameter proses gurdi terhadap kekasaran permukaan. Rancangan percobaan ditetapkan dengan menggunakan metode faktorial yang berupa matriks ortogonal L9 (32) dan replikasi sebanyak dua kali. Parameter proses gurdi yang divariasikan adalah kecepatan makan (50 mm/menit, 115 mm/menit dan 180 mm/menit) dan kecepatan potong (47,1 m/menit, 62,8 m/menit dan 78,5 m/menit). Respon yang diteliti adalah kekasaran permukaan lubang hasil penggurdian. Pahat yang digunakan adalah twist drill HSS NACHI. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) digunakan untuk mengetahui parameter-parameter proses yang memiliki pengaruh secara signifikan dan besarnya kontribusi terhadap respon yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter proses gurdi seperti kecepatan makan dan kecepatan potong berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kekasaran permukaan. Peningkatan kecepatan makan akan meningkatkan kekasaran permukaan, sedangkan peningkatan kecepatan potong akan menurunkan kekasaran permukaan. Kontribusi parameter proses gurdi dalam mengurangi variasi respon, secara berurutan adalah kecepatan makan sebesar 51,98% dan kecepatan potong sebesar 37,83%.
