Keywords:
semantic, analysis, unstoppable, lyricAbstract
This study explores the semantic analysis of the song "Unstoppable" by Sia, focusing on both lexical and contextual meanings within the lyrics. Language serves as a critical tool for communication, and understanding its nuances can enhance our appreciation of artistic expressions like song lyrics. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, analyzing specific words, phrases, and sentences to reveal deeper meanings. The findings indicate that many words in the lyrics convey themes of strength, self-confidence, and resilience. For instance, terms like "unstoppable" and "invincible" reflect an optimistic outlook, while words such as "armor" and "cry out loud" highlight the internal struggles behind the facade of strength. This contrast between lexical and contextual meanings underscores the complexity of the song's message: true strength involves acknowledging and confronting one's vulnerabilities.Ultimately, this analysis not only sheds light on Sia's artistic expression but also emphasizes the importance of delving beyond surface meanings in song lyrics to uncover richer emotional narratives. The implications of this study extend to broader applications in understanding and interpreting lyrical content across various musical genres.
